Construction precautions
1. Exposure time explanation: 831 black brown asphalt ship bottom anti rust paint is not resistant to sunlight exposure, so it is not advisable to apply it too early. It is recommended to apply the anti fouling paint within two days before applying it in summer and within seven days in winter. Applying 831 black brown asphalt ship bottom anti rust paint too early can cause cracking of the paint film.
2. The anti rust and anti fouling effect of ship bottom paint is closely related to the thickness of the paint film, so the number of coating layers or usage cannot be arbitrarily omitted or reduced. The increase in paint film thickness leads to a corresponding increase in rust and stain prevention effects, which can extend the docking period. Economically, it is cost-effective. Anti fouling paint relies on the gradual leakage of toxic substances from the paint film into seawater to prevent the attachment of marine organisms. Ensure that the anti fouling paint reaches a certain thickness (i.e. the number of coats and the amount applied) in order to be effective within a certain period of time. The application of anti fouling paint is too thin, which reduces the amount of toxic substances in the paint film and cannot achieve long-lasting anti fouling effect.
3. Asphalt based ship bottom paint should be used in accordance with regulations, and base paints such as 706 anti rust paint, aluminum iron anti rust paint, zinc yellow anti rust paint, and red lead anti rust paint should not be used on the ship bottom.
4. Do not dilute with solvents randomly during construction, otherwise it will affect the anti rust and anti fouling performance. If the viscosity is too thick to apply or spray, a small amount of diluent can be used to dilute. Do not use loose perfume, otherwise the paint will freeze and cannot be used.
5. The film-forming substance of asphalt based ship bottom paint mainly relies on coal tar pitch, so its paint film performance is relatively soft, with poor potential resistance, and cannot exceed -0.8 volts. If this potential is exceeded, it will cause adverse effects such as paint film peeling and adhesion of marine organisms.
The intermediate layer paint between L44-81 (830-1) aluminum powder asphalt ship bottom anti rust paint and ship bottom anti fouling paint.
Suitable for use as anti rust primer on the bottom of ships, and can also be used for anti-corrosion of submerged facilities such as condensation pipes, dock buoys, and water tanks.
