The Shanghai World Expo has five themed pavilions, among which the Urban People Pavilion, Urban Life Pavilion, and Urban Earth Pavilion are located in the themed pavilion building in Pudong Area B. The exterior design of the exhibition hall is based on the creative concept of "origami", while the roof imitates the characteristics of the "tiger window" in Shanghai's alleyway, with a front opening and a back slope, showcasing the cultural charm of traditional Shikumen architecture in Shanghai. The south square, north square, and sunken square of the theme pavilion will host various activities, celebrations, and ceremonies during the World Expo. The Urban Footprint Pavilion and the Urban Future Pavilion are located in the D and E areas of Puxi, respectively. The two exhibition halls are designed and renovated using original industrial buildings, creating a new space that echoes tradition and modernity.
